Shapeshifting

There is no way I would avoid acknowledging how fascinating it is to watch my baby move and shape shift my belly. Haha!

She has been playing with me today for the past ten minutes. She will kick first and then I'll tap on my belly. Then she will kick again. We have been doing this back and forth and it is the most incredible thing to witness; I have been smiling and giggling the entire time. It is literally in the realm of being other worldly. Once she was done kicking, she full blown shape shifted and created a wave with my belly. The movements are so profound at this point of my pregnancy that it is quite a sensation to feel when it happens.

It just reminds me of Sigourney Weaver and her alien baby moving around in her belly and I can't help but laugh and continue to enjoy this experience. It has been the most miraculous experience of my life.

She is definitely heavy. She is a perfect round little ball of a belly. I love her so much.

The nursery got its final touches to it this past weekend. And I'm pretty sure she is facing down now.

She is getting ready.

If I could sum up our lives in one word, it would probably be chaos. I haven't wanted it to be that way, but it has just been that way. I Quit My Job

I have been trying to find the right words since July. I have been trying to identify the words that would give my emotions their due justice. I'm pretty sure there is still some anger there, so I have treaded lightly and stayed silent until I knew I could practice forgiveness. It took some time to really sift through these emotions because I had not had an occasion to truly reflect on my career and the many experiences I've had that have contributed to how I see this area of my life.  I have been consistently tested on my work ethic throughout the years; and this time around was no different. The thing about this time is that I was unwilling to compromise my work ethic and integrity any further, seeing the very position I found myself in, set me up for failure right from the get go. Origins

When I tell people that I grew up at the dump, people look at me in shock and bewilderment. It's true though. At the end of our driveway was the entrance to the National Serve-All landfill. My sister and I used to pick off and eat wild berries from the trees that were the natural fence which separated our drive from the landfill's man-made entryway to the dumping area where the trucks would gather to take their collections of trash each week. Needless to say, I came from humble beginnings. Can you believe I honestly thought that everyone ate tortillas  and menudo  until I learned that not everyone did? My parents used to be Mexican-American migrant workers who sought the American dream just like anyone else longing to have a chance at fulfilling dreams that didn't even seem possible.
